ALBUQUERQUE, NM. – New Mexico State Police are searching for the driver of a light pickup truck that struck and killed a motorcyclist in Vado on Thursday.
The crash occurred at 10581 Las Alturas Street at around 2:10 p.m. Authorities have also released the name of the victim, 54-year-old Guy Hanslin, of Mesquite.
According to The Albuquerque Journal, Hanslin was heading north on his Harley Davidson motorcycle on Las Alturas street when the driver of a tan 1998 Chevrolet S-10 heading southbound made a left turn in front of his vehicle, hitting him head-on. Hanslin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
The driver of the pickup fled and the vehicle was later found at a home in Mesquite. State Police are urging anyone with information about this crash to contact them at (575) 382-2500, option 1.
