Texas Personal Injury Lawyer

David R. “Dave” Hagan grew up in and around the Marshall-Longview area in northeast Texas.  He grew up in a legal household, exposed to legal arguments over dinner nearly every night between his father, a criminal defense attorney, and his mother, a former District Attorney and a District Judge.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in History and Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013.  The following spring, he enrolled in the Baylor University School of Law, graduating with his Juris Doctorate in July 2016.

After first being licensed as an attorney in Texas in November 2016, Dave went to work as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney in Gregg County, Texas.  After about 3 years of prosecuting misdemeanor and later felony cases, he left the DA’s Office in early 2019 to open his own practice, taking on criminal defense work, family and child custody cases, and personal injury cases.  At the end of 2019, he joined the Sloan Firm to be a part of a group of lawyers focused on getting justice for their clients.

Dave serves on the Board of Directors for the Longview Teen Court and as the District 1 representative on the Board of Directors for the Texas Young Lawyer’s Association, a body of the State Bar of Texas.  He is also a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
