J. Kendon Womack, born and raised in Longview, Texas has always been called to the practice of law. He learned the importance of representing individuals and families early in his life by observing his father, a former trial lawyer in the East Texas area.
Kendon graduated from Spring Hill High School and continued his education at Texas Tech University. There he participated in the Pre-Law Academy which confirmed his long-held desire to become a lawyer. Kendon graduated with his bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in legal studies in 2017.
In the fall of 2017, Kendon began his law school career at St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. He spent his summers working as an intern for law firms specializing in personal injury trial law. In his final year of law school, he participated in St. Mary’s Pro Bono Family Law Clinic representing underserved individuals in San Antonio, Texas.
Kendon had always known he wanted to settle down back in East Texas and give back to the very community in which he was raised. So after graduating from law school in 2020, he moved back to Longview and joined the Sloan Firm.
Kendon is aware that representing the fine people of East Texas means more than simply performing the legal work, but also understanding the individuals and families for whom he is fighting. Growing up in Longview provides him a unique advantage in this area.
Kendon is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and a board member of Longview’s Teen Court organization.
When not practicing law, Kendon enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife, family, and friends.
